Around 1704, Frederick William I (Mecklenburg) built a wooden hut with oak boards and painted log cabin as a hunting lodge on the site of today's restored hunting lodge. Baumeister was allegedly the engineer captain Jacob Reutz, who was also responsible for the development of the Schwerin Schelfstadt and its Schelfkirche. According to an old Havemann chronicle, the hunting lodge was built with superimposed beams. The joints are sealed with moss, the walls are covered with oak boards and painted on the outside. The plant consisted of the Corps de logis with two floors and two single-storey wings. In the dining-room the Duke had left all his old life-size hunters abconterfeyen, who were very similarly struck .... The roof of the corps de logis was covered with wooden shingles. As Schmiederechnungen prove, the cabin must have been completed in 1709. Nothing of the old hunting lodge has been preserved.

In 1791, Duke Friedrich Franz I, the first Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, had his new half-timbered hunting lodge built on the site of the old hunting lodge in Friedrichsmoor. The single-storey three-wing complex was built by the court architect Johann Christoph Heinrich von Seydewitz until 1793. The middle of the courtyard and garden façade was each highlighted by a three-axle roof with half-round gable.

At the time of the construction wood shortage prevailed, since the Lewitz was almost completely deforested around 1770. The foresters of the since 1709 in Friedrichsmoor existing forestry office, which had to procure the lumber, provided over the years for reforestation.

    Now it is a hotel.
