From the Harzburg to Walkenried (43km)
The Kaiserweg crosses the Harz from north to south and leads from Bad Harzburg between Torfhaus and the Brocken to Oderbrück, through the Golden Aue to Kyffhäuser. His destination in Tilleda is east of the Kyffhauser.
The Kaiserweg got its name from the successful escape of Emperor Henry IV (1050 to 1106) in the night of 8 to 9 August 1073 before the Saxons from the Harzburg to Walkenried.
