The 'Bergisches Haus' has always been an inn and existed before Ronsdorf was founded. It is noticeable that this house is not parallel to today's Remscheider Strasse. The reason for this is that in the past a path coming from the north led through today's Kocherstrasse and led to Remscheider Strasse next to the 'Bergisches Haus'.
The whole story can be read on an information board. It is also attached to this highlight as a photo.

Today the 'Bergisches Haus' houses a highly recommended Italian restaurant.

According to oral tradition, the "Bergisches Haus" had already stood before the city of Ronsdorf was founded. It was on a road that led from Haßlinghausen via Oberbarmen and Ronsdorf into the Gelpe and Morsbachtal valleys and which was used by the coal drivers to supply the hammers and kottes in the two valleys with coal. The course of the route can only be partially traced. What is certain is that it led past the Königshof through the southern part of today's Kocherstraße and then up the Talsperrenstraße.
