In 1985/87, the current fountain and the two bronze reliefs were created as replicas by the sculptor Harald Haake. The originals were melted down in 1934 to make a replica of the Schiller monument.

In 1934, the Nazis had the monument to the Jewish brothers removed, and it was not until 1987 that the Rathenau fountain was restored and inaugurated by sculptor Harald Haacke.

At the center of the Rehberge Public Park stands Georg Kolbe's Rathenau Fountain. It was built and inaugurated in the fall of 1930. It was dismantled for political reasons in July 1934 and reconstructed in 1987 by sculptor Harald Haacke based on photographs. A spiral rises from the fountain's round bowl, widening towards the top. Portrait reliefs of the Rathenau brothers are mounted on pedestals on either side of a staircase. The fountain is not in use.
