Bergen Harbor and Fish Market

There's no question why you should come to Bergen. Hardly a ship doesn't dock in this wonderful city. Nothing needs to be organized: simply start walking from the harbor, and all the sights are right on your way. Besides all the historic buildings, the market area with its many stalls is a must. Fresh seafood and a glass of wine or a beer from the bottle are unforgettable. If you have more time, take the cable car up to the top station and enjoy incredible views of the city, the harbor, and incoming ships. There are also some lovely circular hikes up here, at least in good weather.

A visit to the port of Bergen is highly recommended, not only because of the fish market. There are always new impressions to be captured. From the other side of the harbor you also have a wonderful view of the Brigge district.

There is a wide selection of marine animals here. In the restaurant next door they are freshly prepared.
