Deia is located on the edge of the Tramuntana mountains near the northwest coast of Mallorca. The village with its original stone houses is located at an altitude of 400 meters on the 1064 meter high Puig de Teix. The landscape around the mountain village is characterized by holm oaks, olive trees and rushing torrents. Deià, which borders the communities of Sóller, Valldemossa and Bunyola, has just under 700 inhabitants.
