At over 1290m above sea level in the middle of the Allgäu Alps is the Buchel Alpe. From the nearby car park, it takes about three quarters of an hour to well attach paths and roads to Buchel Alpe. Once there, you will be rewarded by an unforgettable alpine panorama, which impressively stages the Tyrolean and Allgäu mountains and seems to merge into form. The Buchel Alpe is hosted by the Gehring family, which cares not only for the approximately 50 young cattle on the Alpe but also for the physical well-being of their hikers. Hearty snacks, local cheese specialties, a fresh buttermilk or home-made braid and cakes from the wood stove are just some of the many delicacies with which the hiker can fortify himself.
