Resistance Monument Kollumerpomp

shape and materialThe Resistance Monument at Kollumerpomp is a white stone statue of a seated male figure with a rifle in his right hand. Between his knees is a young girl. The man's left hand rests protectively on the child's shoulder. Husband and child look happy but alert to the Frisian countryside. On the left side of the man's seat is the coat of arms of the former Kollumerland municipality and on the right side the coat of arms of the province of Friesland. An image of the Dutch lion is embossed on the back of the seat. The statue is on a pillar. A white natural stone band with an inscription can also be seen at the bottom of the column. The statue is 2 meters 30 meters high, 98 centimeters wide and 1.12 meters deep. The column is 2 meters 80 meters high.
