From here there is a clear view over the fields to the old windmill.

The Eilhausen windmill (Königsmühle, Mühlenroute No. 30) is the oldest of the three royal mills in the Minden-Lübbecke district. Its slender mill tower made of sandstone was built before 1721 by royal order as an earth Dutchman with a star. In 1872, the miller Selle bought the mill, which is still owned by the family today, and had it raised by one floor to make better use of the wind (visible in the brickwork below the cap). A gallery had to be added to sail the wings, so the mill has been a gallery dutch ever since, and the start was replaced by a compass rose. After 1900 the mill was partially converted to motor drive until commercial milling ended in 1944. Since 1982, the mill has been completely restored and is now open to the wind again.
