The Kluckensteine are located on the edge of the small village Vicht. These vertical rocks are very old fellows - their origin took place about 390 million years ago. The rock is refractory and is suitable as insulation material in the iron processing, which is why in former times hard stones were knocked. Today it is a natural monument. On the highest rock stands a wooden cross as a symbol of peace.

Nordic walking
The path winds in sharp curves along the southwest slope to the Peace Cross on the top of the Kluckenstein. Along the path you can still find some impressive fragments of the once mighty conglomerate rock. The inhabitants of the surrounding villages have been quarrying the stones since the 14th century to build smelting furnaces for copper and iron smelting. Individual benches invite you to take a rest - great view of the Vichtbach valley.
