I find the most beautiful the gorge in the morning, over the high sun and then back via the Landgrave Gorge. You can discover a lot in the gorge, especially in the morning. The high sun will hopefully invite you with sun.
Watch out, the gorge is closed to the public in winter - a walk at your own risk is still great, but you also have to be responsible.
