Kyjov (Khaa) Village

The village was founded in the mid-17th century and had about 500 German inhabitants until 1945. Today, it is inhabited by only a few, despite its great location and the pretty half-timbered houses.

The small elongated village of Kyjov lies on the border of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Lusatian Mountains Protected Landscape Area. It attracts nature lovers and romantics with its picturesqueness, which is underlined by numerous half-timbered cottages and old stilt houses. Its immediate surroundings offer a number of interesting excursion destinations and the possibility of versatile activities. The Kyjov Reservoir is a paradise for pleasant natural swimming, the surrounding terrain is a challenge for rock climbing enthusiasts and a number of marked trails await tourists. In Kyjov, the Mountain Association for the Kyjov Valley was established in 1884, which made many interesting rock formations accessible.

A really pretty old village on the Kirnitzsch just not far from the Kaah rock path. There is also a small free parking lot for hikers in the village.
