"... Below the castle of the Counts of Kanitz are large enclosures for red and fallow deer as well as mouflons and two llamas on a slope. Hiking trails run through the area.
The game park (swing gates), which was formerly accessible free of charge, became chargeable a few years ago.
In 2005 aviaries were erected on the wall of the palace garden - birds of prey such as buzzards, black kites, Luggerfalke and eagle owls were seen from now on. This falconry, which moved into the castle courtyard, was closed in 2008.

The park recently made headlines when the pack of fallow deer broke out in December 2008 and wandered around the area for days.

The buildings of the baroque castle date from the 17th - 19th centuries. The baroque estate, located on a hill in Selm, has been documented for a long time and is considered one of the oldest noble castles in Westphalia. ... "
