Anyone who, like me, is interested in waterways must definitely experience the route on the Nordgeorgsfehn Canal between Leda and Jade-Ems Canal. It's an experience, even if the first few kilometers from Stickhausen are a bit “slow”. After that, things will get much better and the Nordgeorgsfehnkanal will delight despite its long stretch to its other end on the Ems-Jade Canal.

Story
Nordgeorgsfehn was founded in 1829 as a Fehn colony. The Fehn was named after the King George IV of Great Britain and Hanover. Nordgeorgsfehn belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Hollen. The first settlers recorded in the church register were the Heere Andreesen Meyer von Jheringsfehn and Ubbe Hinrichs Lambertus von Spetzerfehn families.
On January 1, 1973, Nordgeorgsfehn was incorporated into the new municipality of Uplengen

The tour starts so boring in Stickhausen, but develops into a nice tour along the canal 👍
