The museum ship "Oscar Huber", built in 1922, is a unique cultural monument. Until the 1960s, the bike boat pulled up to seven unpowered barges with their freights per trip. It represents a technology that has been in use for more than 100 years.

Towards the end of the 1950s, push boats with diesel engines came on and gradually replaced the tugboats. The "Oscar Huber" escaped as the only wheeled tugboat on the Rhine for scrapping.

Today it is anchored at the towpath on the Schifferbörse. Here you can admire the impressive technique. The engine room is as accessible as the former crew and living quarters.

The museum ships "Oscar Huber", "Minden" and the crane ship "Fendel 147" are exhibits of the inland navigation museum in Ruhrort (komoot.de/highlight/351457). There, shipping history from the Stone Age to the present is vividly presented.
