In summer it serves as a base for summit tours on the 2,007 meter high Heukuppe, the highest point of the Rax. In winter, ski tourers visit it on their tours in the Karlgarben and the Tall Man. Immediately behind the Waxriegelhaus is the “Duck Hill” climbing garden, which is also popular with children.
