The Haidsteig is probably one of the most famous climbing routes in the Rax massif and is one of the boldest climbing systems in Austria. The Haidsteig overcomes the massif of the Preinwand massif in a very exposed line and is one of the largest and most popular via ferrata adventures in the Eastern Alps. It is peppered with everything that makes for a true classic: unique landscape ambience, dizzying depths paired with great exposure, considerable length, great persistent difficulties, spectacular individual locations and varied course. All in all, one of the best climbing routes in our collection, which you definitely must have done, if you have the skills.

Very long climb with several good rest points and great views. Often a high level of performance is required to climb somewhat effortlessly. The second ladder is likely to be the most exposed passage. In between, again and again short pieces with easy climbing without safety line.
From the top it is only a small dangling to the summit!
