The Johannisfriedhof is an ecclesiastical cemetery in Nuremberg with historical and artistically valuable lying tombstones and burial sites of the population from more than five centuries. The cemetery is still in operation and is a listed building. Because of the many rose bushes it is also called the rose cemetery.
The Johannisfriedhof was a so-called Siechkobel (leper house) for lepers in 1234.
Later he became the cemetery of the Nuremberg, including many highly respected merchants, city councilors and, above all, artists, for example: Albrecht Dürer, Veit Stoss, Hans Sachs and many more

Among other things, you can see the graves of William Wilson (1809 - 1862, locomotive driver of the "Adler", the first German railway between Nuremberg and Fürth) and Kevin Coyne (1944 - 2004, British musician, painter and author).
