  • Archbishop's Palace and Palazzo del Seminario is the seat of both the archbishopric and the seminary, which was established in 1610 by Decio Caracciolo using a wing of the Archbishop's Palace next to the cathedral. In 1651, the so-called San Sabino column was placed in the courtyard thus formed. The current Baroque appearance is due to the intervention of Muzio Gaeta junior, who entrusted the "embarrassment" of the structure to D. A. Vaccaro, then engaged also with similar works in the cathedral of San Sabino (1738-45). Today the internal staircase, the three-storey façade enriched by the side avant-corps and the balustraded terrace, as well as the busts that decorate the entire structure are still visible. On the side of via Dottula there is another eighteenth-century door with rotated plinth columns, a solution also used at Palazzo Effrem and, in another context, also in the baroque altars of S. Domenico. The Diocesan Museum (Bari) is housed in the Seminary.

  • Historic building in the center of Ferrara, it is distinguished by the plaque affixed to the side of the Cathedral in which Nicolò Copernico is mentioned, who in 1503 graduated in canon law at the University of Ferrara.
It is supposed that in the Este city he read the writings of Plato and Marco Tullio Cicero about the opinions of the ancients on the movement of the Earth.
Also in Ferrara it is therefore assumed that he may have had the first illumination for the development of his intuitions.
In fact, from 1504 he began to collect his observations and the reflections that were about to lead him to form his theory.
