Until 2016 there were regular festivals in the Celtic village that brought life back to life 2,500 years ago.About 2,500 years ago there was a larger, fortified Celtic settlement on the Öchsenberg.Strategically located on the northernmost summit of the Rhön, the facility probably served to protect trade routes and secure border areas. The size of the settlement and numerous finds on the mountain and in the region suggest that it is of outstanding importance.The Celtic village in the area of the Goldene Aue forest area is supposed to show the everyday life of the Celts, as it may have happened around 600 BC.The historically modeled Celtic village, which has been under construction since 2004, was built on Mount Öchsen and comprises the following components: gatehouse with fortified tower and wooden palisades as a fence around the local area,
