The Grevinghof estate first appeared in a document in 1188 when it was described as the fiefdom of the Counts of Dale. Around 1320 the knight of Korff-Harkotten came into possession of the estate. The von Baak family owned the property from the mid-14th century to 1696, followed by the von Oer family on Egelborg near Legden, a Dr. Karl Meyer from Melle, the baron of Spiegel-Peckelsheim and finally the estate went to his son-in-law. The descendants are still owned by Gut Grevinghof today.
