Hiking Highlight
Small, super beautiful lake in the middle of the forest. It is usually so quiet here that you can hear the fish snap at flies from time to time.

The lake is easy to walk around, it is only about 1.5 kilometers. There are parking spaces either directly at the lake or you can park in Bad Faulenbach at Mittersee and then walk in about 50 minutes on an asphalt path, mostly on the edge of the forest, to the Alatsee.

Fantastic views on a short tour around the lake, which can be completed in half an hour without a break. But you don't have to do it that quickly. There are many wonderful resting places and there is no shortage of education if you take the time to look at the information boxes on the local bird world that are placed along the circular route. If you want, you can relax in the restaurant on the Alatsee with good food and drinks.
Unfortunately, there is a parking lot that is almost always full nearby, so that peace and quiet is not that far away. Still worth a visit.

Beautiful lake with an even more impressive backdrop in which you can swim in summer.

Wonderful area, great for swimming. We had a lot of fun with a rope, so you could hang on the liana like Tarzan and then jump into the water

The Alatsee is simply a dream. Years ago little visited, now even on a Monday in autumn (is it Corona to blame?) In any case, masses of tourists from BW, Hesse, etc. That spoils the enjoyment a little. Too bad.

The landscape protection area between Lech and Alatsee consists of gentle nature enjoyment, recreation and regeneration! The idyllic little lakes lined up like a string of pearls, species-rich flower meadows, impressive hillside forests and fascinating rock formations make a unique
Nature. Passing by Kneipp baths, natural lake swimming pools and the miniature golf course, the hike takes you to the legendary Alta Lake and alpine playground in the Allgäu Alps: many myths and legends surround the Alatsee. From here, the 40-minute ascent to the Salober Alm starts. In addition to a nice restaurant in the mountain pasture, hikers can enjoy a 30-minute circular walk with its four-lake view!

Beautiful lake. Even for absolute newcomers to circle around easily ... 😉

Very small lake, which is also not full of tourists, very nice and you can also walk around it twice.
Sufficient parking spaces are also available.

The Alatsee is beautifully surrounded by trees. An inn, a small lawn and numerous benches line the shore. For a walk with a stroller well suited. A Kneipp pool is also available. The Alatsee is characterized by very clear water. In deeper water layers live in oxygen-poor water purple sulfur bacteria.

The color of this lake is particularly beautiful due to its special sulfur content.
