The small stone church is really worth a second look. With an age of over 600 years, the early Gothic hall church still impresses today. Inside you can visit the medieval "Laaser Madonna", which made the church a place of pilgrimage. In the immediate vicinity of the church there is an ancient linden tree, which is designated as a natural monument, as well as old tombstones that date back to the 19th century.

The small fieldstone church in Laase was built around 1400. The tower, built in the width of the nave, has a pyramidal helmet. The choir, which has just been closed, has a gable with brick screens. In the cemetery are the remains of a linden tree that is still putting out leaves. According to oral tradition, the linden tree in the Lasa Cemetery is over 800 years old. It was severely damaged by lightning and then broke apart. Nevertheless, the rest of the tree, which is still green, is worth seeing.
There are treasures in the simple interior of the church. The Madonna and Child from the mid-13th century was restored in 2002 with the help of private donations. The depiction of "Christ as the Man of Sorrows" on the inside of the sacrament cabinet (14th century) is very well preserved. The figures of Mary and Jesus have been preserved from the medieval altar shrine. Two figures were stolen in 1979 (Nikolas and Katharina). They were donated in 2002 as copies. Other large donations enabled interior and exterior renovations in the church.
Romanesque Madonna. The carved figure made in the second half of the 13th century is probably a Mecklenburg work. Wooden sculptures of this great age are very rare to find in Mecklenburg churches.
