A special waterfall was my goal today, and for that, I took the train 🚂 and replacement transport 🚌 to Lohmen.



Lohmen is also called the "Gateway to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains" 🚪 or the "Gateway to Saxon Switzerland" ⛰️, and the Basteistraße runs through the town - naturally towards the Bastei

A sunny morning 🌞 greeted me as I looked out of my 🪟 hotel room window, and this weather made me look forward to the tour planned for today into the Wesenitz valley.



The car had 🆓 a break, because this time I walked to Stolpen train station and took the 🚂 two stops to Dürrröhrsdorf.

Snowdrops (also known as spring snowflakes/March bells/March cups/Large snowdrops) have been among my absolute favorite flowers since childhood, and today I had the opportunity to really feast my eyes on them.



To do this, I drove from Stolpen to Heeselicht, about 8 km away, where there's a well-signposted

The town and castle of Stolpen, near Dresden, stand atop an extinct volcano. During its eruption, a massive magma chamber formed beneath the surface. This magma then solidified into columns – the Stolpen basalt.

The destination of my adventurous journey today by car, tram, bus, and train (but all on time! 👍🏼) was Bergen auf Rügen.



Shortly after taking my first steps, I realized that Bergen ⛰️ isn't called that for nothing, as it was all uphill 📈 the whole way.

The historic town of Torgau was on my itinerary today. 📝 As far as I know, I've never been there before, so it was about time.



The train journey 🚂 went smoothly, and from Torgau station, it's just a straight walk. The hiking trails are well-marked, so even people like me, who have no sense of direction

On a sunny day with temperatures around -8°C, I wanted to do a hike 🔃 from Neukloster to Warin and back. Along the way, I had to decide whether



⭕ to just hike around Lake Neukloster or

⭕ to hike the whole thing.



In Neukloster, I parked my car 🅿️ directly opposite the church ⛪, and after just a few minutes

Today, a sunny but cold winter Sunday with a blanket of snow was the perfect invitation to explore the Neuhäuser and Große Ribnitzer Moors. Where mosquitoes swarm in the summer, there was now a pristine white stillness.



Last summer, on the small circular path through the Neuhäuser Moor, I encountered

🤔 Sunday afternoon, no rain, but a rather gray, dreary sky – where to go? 💭💡 Fischland/Darß/Zingst is always an option.



So I drove to Ahrenshoop, parked again at the mill (🅿️ "Am Feldweg" – day ticket €3), and set off along the Bodden side towards Wustrow.

...I was one of the many people 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏻 who were thronging through Lübeck's city center today. So I tried to find a route a little off the beaten track, so there would be one less person in the crush. 🙃
