The mostly spherical, often very large flower balls appear like small, bright bulwarks on the leathery, evergreen leaves.At this time, numerous visitors flock to the “Park of Gardens” in Bad Zwischenahn and marvel at the incredible floral splendor. There are up to 2000 species and varieties here in a wide variety of shapes and colors.No wonder that rhododendrons are so popular here. The center of rhododendron cultivation in Germany has been in Ammerland since the 1920s. Nowhere else can you find this diversity.Petra recently visited Björn Ehsen, head gardener at the Park of Gardens and really... already on the way there, rhododendrons can be found everywhere here.They bloom in front gardens, you can find them on the side of the road, in the large fields of the tree nurseries and, of course, in the large rhododendron parks.
