Top cycling routes to Remains of the Amalieneiche

Tips

  • The Amalieneiche, probably named after the late deceased wife of Duke Friederike Elisabeth Amalie, was considered to be the oldest and most impressive in Hasbruch at 1250 years old. On February 10, 1982, she overthrew. Their remains can still be visited today.

  • Again, one argues about the actual age, which is likely to fluctuate between 800 and about 1200. See Monumentale-Eichen.de

  • The assumption with the naming is correct. In the 1970s there were still designated bridle paths in Hasbruch. One of these paths also led past the Amalia oak.

I still remember this imposing tree very well.
