G-1 Cycle Path Along the Soča River

This bicycle path connects Solkan with Kanal and vice versa and in an elegant way, solves the problem of the main road through this part of the Soča Valley, which is also very busy with heavy trucks. The trail is well marked with red (G1) and blue (G-1) signs and runs along a bike path and along a secondary road that has very little traffic. Shortly before the Kanal in the village of Gorenja vas and at the tunnel in the Kanal in front of the famous bridge over the Soča there is drinking water station. There is also a drinking water station on the bike path, as well as well-kept points with tables and benches and trash cans every few kilometers.

Beautiful cycle path that runs along the Isonzo river, this is completely traffic-free and well maintained, giving you fast and easy access from the outskirts of Nova Gorica to the local hills and climbs.Be mindful of other path users, though, as well as some obstacles like a set of steep steps, a shallow water crossing, a short tunnel and a few blind corners.
