The Grand Duchess Elisabeth - originally San Antonio, then Ariadne - is a three-masted gaff schooner with home port Elsfleth on the Lower Weser. Currently it is the training ship of the Maritime School Elsfleth and named after the Oldenburg Grand Duchess Elisabeth Alexandrine Mathilde of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1869-1955).

When I came through Elsfleth on the Weser Cycle Path on August 18, the ship had just left because of the Grand Duchess's birthday. What a shame!
