The bushes and trees around some remaining holes from the Ice Age on undeveloped and non-agricultural areas developed into a wild forest. In the early 20th century, the owner of the land, the Berlin-Tempelhofer Terrain-Gesellschaft, used it to create Tempelhofer Park with Lake Klarensee. In 1907, the rural community of Tempelhof acquired the park and declared it a community park the following year.[1] In 1941, additional areas were added to the south of those previously used.
