The church was built of field stones in the first half of the 12th century. Even at that time it offered protection against lightning and fire. That's probably where the name comes from, because Barbara is the patron saint of lightning and thunder.
In 1628, a gabled roof could be erected with the help of funds from all over Saxony.

Hiking

The old village church from 1628. It was saved from deterioration and has been a venue for concerts, cabaret or private celebrations since 2000. A development association takes care of the maintenance and leasing. There is a beautiful meadow. Nice picnic spot!
