Art on the Canal – Once Stone

Kunst am Kanal is an art project that has been created along the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal since 2003. To date, 6 sculptures have been created in the Berg municipal area near Neumarkt i.d.OPf. at various locations sculptures designed by regional and international artists. Once stone was a two-part concrete sculpture, each 4 m high, which represents the connection between the regionally predominant rock, the Jurassic limestone, and the construction material made of concrete. The sculpture forms the word EINST on one side of the canal and STEIN on the other side from concrete letters. The artist Timm Ulrichs is the creator of the 2007 artwork.

Not everything that is called art is beautiful. Everyone can decide for themselves.
