Here it goes steeply downhill into the Dalbekschlucht or steeply up. It's really fun to bike here. A paradise for mountain bikers.

The Dalbek Gorge was designated a nature reserve in 1994. It stretches across the municipalities of Börnsen, Escheburg and Kröppelshagen and is characterized by a gorge forest, which is interspersed with distinctive meanders from the Dalbek river, which has been preserved in its original form. The forest consists mainly of deciduous trees, with the common beech being predominant.

It's really fun going down here in summer. In autumn and winter, however, you should be extremely careful.

Yesterday, for example, I couldn't see the ground in front of the leaves, so I was on the verge of a dangerous situation a few times.

      Still an impressive gorge.

Some paths are currently closed to hikers and cyclists.
