The approximately 120 ha large and over 4 km long Premer Lechsee is a reservoir and connects to the Lech barrage to the south at Forggensee; the Lech is dammed near Prem by an almost three-kilometer-long dam, which was built in the late 1960s to make the hydropower usable. The Premer Lechsee, also known as Lech barrage 2, is a popular fishing area. In its vicinity there are varied hiking trails with wonderful views of the Ammer Mountains.
