The approximately 120 ha large and over 4 km long Premer Lechsee is a reservoir and connects to the Lech barrage to the south at Forggensee; the Lech is dammed near Prem by an almost three-kilometer-long dam, which was built in the late 1960s to make the hydropower usable.
