The quarry belongs to the Black Forest granite and gravel works GmbH and Co. KG founded in 1924 by Herrmann Ossala.

From 1962 the company was in the hands of Bruno Ossola. In Waldulm he built an asphalt and concrete mixing plant and founded a road construction company and a gravel plant in Renchen/Maiwald.

At the beginning of the 1970s, Bruno Ossola shut down the quarry on the Schwend, which was exclusively responsible for large blocks of granite.

The former quarry is filled with water. The site is fenced and unsecured. Opposite you can still find old houses and remains of the rails and conveyor systems.
