The German Wehrmacht had the Kasteel de Keverberg located on the Maas in the Dutch village Kessel gladly used as accommodation. When the troops withdrew from the Allies in November 1944, the soldiers set fire to the castle. Not quite 71 years later, the reconstruction was completed.
On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the reopening of the castle took place. The result is a reconstruction: a mix of old and new. More than 60 volunteers worked together for around 25,000 hours to enable reconstruction, saving 600,000 euros.

Hike from Gravenhof to Pommershütte and from there to Eiscafe Clevers in Kessel. It was delicious again 😋😋😋
