Location: Diemelsee, Waldeck-Frankenberg, Kassel District, Regierungsbezirk Kassel, Hesse, Germany
Schweinsbühl is located in the Upland in the Diemelsee Nature Park, below the 634.5 meter high Widdehagen. The village is mentioned as early as 1075. At that time it was owned by the monastery of Corvey. The church was built in 1150. The place was the seat of a Gogericht with a free seat west of the church. In 1354 the patronage passed to Johann von Padberg and the "Scalenberg brothers". In the years that followed, the patronage changed frequently and provided the respective owners with ample income.
You hike here through coniferous and mixed forest, interrupted by fields and meadows with wide views of the surrounding area. A wonderful hiking area.
