Here you can see, among other things, a boundary stone with a symbol of the Cistercians. The Cistercian monastery in Kamp (Rheinberg) from 1122 was the first monastery of the order on German soil. It maintained close relations with Kempen. Around 1480 the property owned around 75 acres of farmland, which bordered on the property of von Fürstenberg, among others. Boundary stones with the Cistercian symbol marked the lands in the mid-17th century. This represents the earth chained by the power of evil. Around 1804, at the time of secularization, church goods were sold to the highest bidder.

Old boundary stones are fascinating. Boundary stones that mark the borders of three or even four territories are particularly intriguing – such as the Vierherrenstein (Four Lords' Stone) south of Schmidtheim in the Eifel region, along the Roman road. I am not aware of any boundary stone that marks the borders of five territories.
