The Algunder Waalweg, which runs above the village of the same name in the Burggrafenamt, has beautiful viewpoints that allow you to enjoy the view over the entire Adige Valley. It runs on a length of 6 km from Ober- and Mitterplars on Algund to Gratsch. For the most part, the path has been preserved in its original condition.
Starting point for the hike is the Töll. The belonging to Partschins village on the Vinschgauer road has parking, bus stop and train station of the Vinschgau Railway, and is easily accessible from the entire resort area.

A beautiful path from the Töll hydroelectric plant towards Merano.
    Through apple orchards and vineyards.
Possible extension: Dorf Tirol and Tappeiner Promenade to Meran.
    Return by bus is possible.

Beautiful tour with many beautiful stretches and beautiful views and far views of Merano and Bolzano. Due to the change of sunny and shady sections and several benches along the way, the path is almost always accessible.

Also a very nice and level path, which is about 8 km long and can be easily combined with a walk on the Tappeiner Promenade. You reach the starting point by bus.

The Algunder Waalweg is indeed very well laid out and also very good to commit, however, one should set foot on early in the morning or late in the afternoon, as otherwise crushing the there promenierenden crowds.

"Waale" are old, artificially created watercourses, which in some areas are still used to irrigate fields and meadows. A narrow footbridge, the so-called Waalweg, was built for the maintenance and care of a Waals. With the construction of the artificial watercourses, a new job description arose, the so-called Waaler. He took care of the functionality of the Waale and the fair distribution of the extremely valuable resource.
Here on the Algunder Waalweg you can see the water reservoirs for irrigation of the vineyards.

The Waal itself appears after crossing the road to Oberplars. The soothing lapping will accompany us for a while.

Very nice and level hiking trail with a view of Lagundo and Merano. Also suitable for older people, my mother (69) and dog (12) did it well.
