The history of the Garibaldi Bridge in Verona is eventful: The first bridge was built around 1864 and named after Giuseppe Garibaldi. It was replaced in 1877 by a larger stone bridge, which was then blown up by retreating German troops in 1945. The current bridge was subsequently rebuilt.
