Within the connecting channel from the Mittellandkanal to the line is the Leineabstiegsschleuse; it allows the descent from the MLK level to the level of the jammed line. The channel is now used only by passenger ships and pleasure boats, formerly served as a connection of the long-gone factories at the height of today's Ihme center.Source: wikipedia.de

The Leineabstiegsschleuse was built in the years 1913/14. It is located in the connecting channel to the leash (VKL), which connects the branch canal to Linden and the leash. The lock has been used almost exclusively by passenger ships, sport boats and entertainment vehicles of the WSV for decades.
