The Danube town of Ybbs played a special role throughout its history. As the intersection of important trade routes with the Danube, its existence is primarily based on its economic importance. Ybbs has retained its attractive location on the water without the accompanying roads that are usual elsewhere. Beautiful small town. Unfortunately, the city center is not very busy. Lots of empty shops. Still absolutely worth seeing, because many historical buildings can be admired and there are still some places to stop for a break!
