Anyone longing for peace and nature should take a detour to the "Mansholter BĂĽsche".
The forest area covers 330 hectares and is a historic old oak and hornbeam forest with outstanding conservation importance. The Geest carries valuable forest communities. The location is on the nutrient-rich, water-logging "Lauenburger Ton".
The forest (220 ha) is managed in a near-natural and sustainable manner, with the aim of species diversity, unevenness and gradation. The aim of this management is an ecologically stable forest.
The forest is ideal for walks, Nordic walking and nature hikes.

The nature reserve is located south of Wiefelstede in the East Frisian-Oldenburg Geest natural area. It places parts of the hardwood forests of Mansholter Holz and Schippstroth under protection. The forest areas are characterized by a high proportion of old and dead wood. The near-natural Geest brooks Bokeler Bäke and Nutteler Bäke with numerous tributaries flow through the Mansholter Holz. The brooks have formed impact and sliding banks and have a sandy and gravelly river bed. Both streams are lined with trees and wet meadow areas. The forest communities are represented as alder-ash forests along the streams as well as moist oak-hornbeam forests and mixed oak forests and beech forests in the drier locations. Furthermore, there are still waters and low marshland areas with large sedge areas and tall herbaceous meadows.

Very relaxed cycling in beautiful nature. In warm weather there is pleasant shade under the trees.
