Over 100 years ago (1916) the then star architect Friedrich Voss built the Eider Bridge between Friedrichstadt and Sankt Annen. The Eider Bridge itself consists of two arched elements and a foldable middle section. The latter alone is 25 meters long and works like on the first day.

Mountain biking

In the mid-1950s, the structure, which is equipped with a folding mechanism for ships, was widened due to increasing traffic. It is now a listed building. The movable bridge element, which is still in use, is 25 meters long. The whole thing was thought up by the architect Friedrich Voß, who also created the designs for the high canal bridges in Kiel, Rendsburg and Hochdonn.
