The Clingse woods (also: Clingense woods) is a forest area between Hulst and Sint Jansteen. The area connects to the Steense forests and across the Belgian border to the Stropersbos. The area consists of deciduous forest and is freely accessible. Two walking routes have been set out. Since 2008, the area (which is a water extraction area of Evides) has been managed by the Het Zeeuwse Landschap Foundation. The Clingse Forests, together with the Wilde Landen, the Steense forests and the Schommeling, have formed the 'Water extraction forests' since 2020.
The original forest consisted mainly of conifers, which thrived on this sandy soil until the Lettersetter struck in the 2010s. From 2021, the dead trees were replaced with a multitude of species, to reduce vulnerability to pests and diseases.

Clingse bosn means discovering, playing and balancing on the border. Small children enjoy the gnomes in the play forest, while older children learn more about the exciting smuggling routes.
A forest full of surprises. Come discover the mysterious forest for yourself.
