The Felsenkeller Brewery in Monschau, founded in 1847, was a regionally important brewery for four generations (producing Felsquell Pils and Zwickelbier). After ceasing operations in 1994, the Eifel's first brewery museum was established in 1997, featuring exclusive dining and historical facilities. Brewing returned in 2012, until the museum and brewery finally closed in 2019. A significant piece of Monschau's brewing history, it continues today as a cultural remembrance.

150 years of brewing art and the good quality of the Monschauer water were the secret of the success of the Monschauer Felsenkellerbrauerei.
During a tour of the brewhouse, fermentation and storage cellar, you can find out how the popular Monschauer "Felsquell" was made here according to old tradition until a few years ago. An extensive collection of old equipment gives an insight into how the brewing trade has developed over the years. A special attraction is the visit to the historic rock cellar, which was blasted into a slate mountain in 1830.
