The Similaunhütte is an Alpine refuge and is located on the Niederjoch in the Schnalskamm of the Ötztal Alps, which represents the border between the Austrian North Tyrol and the Italian South Tyrol. The hut is located near the border on Italian territory in the Texel Group Nature Park. The hut is private, but operated like an Alpine club hut. The hut is located near the Tisenjoch, the site of the Ötzi.

Great cabin in a great location. Good starting point for high tours in the area. The hut itself I find very cozy and pleasant. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful.
