The water scoops originated in the Near East and have been documented on the Regnitz since the 13th century. They are dismantled in September according to the still valid water law and rebuilt in spring (May). In Hausen alone there were more than 30 such scoop wheels. The Stadeln water wheel (water wheel) was constructed at the suggestion of Günter Brand from Stadeln based on historical models, built at a former water wheel location[1] and put into operation on July 26, 1991.
