Most people automatically turn their eyes to the Little Belt and the beautiful view of Fænø and Fænø Kalv. But it is also worth turning your nose towards the forest, where there is an old wall. 100 meters from the beach. At first glance it looks like a 12 meter high hill in the extent of the slopes to the water. A little closer you can clearly see that Borgsted Bakke (also called Borgsted Banke) is an approx. 4 meter deep grave towards the forest, so that the castle could be defended from all sides. The castle has a transverse dimension of only approx. 25 meters and a three meter wide rock foundation as well as remnants of monk stones have been found. It was built in the Middle Ages - probably in the 13th century - and last used as a cannon position in war in 1864. It is believed, but there are not many facts about the castle.
