Løverodde Beach

For most people, a first visit to the Stenderup forests begins in Løverodde, the only place where you can go straight to the water. Here you are close to the headland where Kolding Fjord and Little Belt meet. A beautiful open area with a beach, lawns, rose bushes, playground and Café Løverodde, where you can enjoy ice cream, coffee or a little something à la carte with a view of the fjord and the Belt from the terrace or indoors.

The view from Løverodde is great, but it is also characterized by the Skærbæk power plant, where DONG Energy mainly produces natural gas for electricity and district heating for the triangle (Kolding-Vejle-Fredericia). To the east you can see Hindsgavl Castle and Galsklint on Funen. To the west of Skærbæk are the islands of Kidholmene and Gudsø Vig, while the interior of the Kolding fjord is somewhat hidden behind the Paradis-bugten.It used to be a tradition for many families in the Kolding region to have a picnic in the finest yarn in Løverodde. Now it is probably more practical with hiking shoes or rubber boots if you want to go outdoors - or maybe even swimwear in summer because there is a beautiful beach and good bathing conditions on the headland. A long jetty also allows small boats to moor in Løverodde.
