The Gabčíkovo power station / lock. A Hungarian, Slovak cooperation project. The cooperation did not go well and ended at the international court of justice. A canal was built parallel to the old course of the Danube with a reservoir 17 km in length. The difference in altitude to the surrounding area is 20m. Impressive and at the same time unsettling. The power plant has 24 MW and provides 11% of the Slovak electricity consumption.
